3D Printing

I am a Student at EIS-M. This blog has the evidence of what I do in my IT lessons in Term 1.

3D PRINTING

3D Printing, also known as additive manufacturing, It is the process of making 3D solid objects from a digital file.It is achieved using the additive processes.

The was it gets printed is by creating layers of the material till the entire object is printed. It all starts with making a 3D scan or model of the object you are printing. You can create a virtual scan by using a 3D modelling file called: Computer Aided Design or CAD.

Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a term used to describe the technology used to create a 3D Printer. Rapid Prototyping (RM) is another example of technology used, other examples include: Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM).

You would find 3D printers in the Nike company workshops, in architects office as they use 3D models when building a building.

Nike uses 3D printers to prototype and manufacture football shoes for the American football players. They make a 3D print of the shoes and then present it to the players.
